Beyoncé - Partition (Explicit Video)
The next scene at around 0:31 seconds shows a zoom in of Beyonce in the mirror wearing a jeweled dress which exposes her breasts and rear. In this shot she appears to be touching her neck in a swift motion quite sexually. This creates a personal relationship between the audience and the singer. The audience is looking at Beyonce's figure as she's directly in front of the camera and therefore, this can send a message out to viewers such as the younger generation of how they 'should' look like as Beyonce is a role model.
At 0:56 seconds through the music video, Beyonce is walking up to the headlights of Jay-Z's car as he is watching from the inside (however, we as the audience can barely see him). The Male Gaze is represented as the male is watching as the woman is sexually moving. Beyonce then turns around to reveal her body, she is wearing black see through lingerie underneath a black robe. This grabs his attention as he opens the car door. The fact that we hardly see the male in the scenes suggest that just showing the singer in hardly any clothing is enough to please the male.
The next scene is in the car where Jay-Z is touching Beyonce's bare legs and sensitive body parts which the male is mostly sexually attracted to. In the song, the lyrics mention: "Take all of me, I just want to be the girl you like... the girl you like is right here with me". This represents Beyoncé as self confident as she shows off her body however, it also implies that in order for her to be with the male, she has to give her body to him. Furthermore, this concludes that women are seen as objects as they can only please men through their body in sexual ways. This can be seen throughout is music video as Beyoncé tries to grab the attention of the male by sexually showing off her body which provokes The Male Gaze.
