Ownership and Regulation
  1. How many organisations own national newspapers and do any companies own more than one title? If so, are these titles linked together? 
Some comapnies do own more than one newspaper and the titles of those are linked together. An example of this is the express newspaper ltd are called daily star and daily express. News international newspapers: The sun and The Times. Trinity Mirror: The Mirror and New Day. Express newspapers ltd: Daily Star and Daily Express. Guardian newspapers ltd: The Guardian.

The Big Issue Analysis The main image on the front of the the magazine is a close up of Morissey which is centered to the middle so that it's the main visual image that attracts attention towards the magazine. This image is portraying the focus of Morrissey when he was younger, on the main cover of the magazine. The use of black and white reflects the age of the music, e.g 1980's indie pop. The masthead is in the top left corner and is presented in a house style as it's different from other magazines; it's a banner as the bold white font stands out from the coloured background. Underneath the main visual image is the main cover line which says: 'The Making of Morrissey' is big and bold which makes it clear to see for the audience. American Beauty - Scene Analysis  Representation: Lester:   Lester is represented as a pathetic, depressed and insecure man as he's not bothered with life because he sees everything as meaningless. He feels as if he's dying slowly each day as he is disengaged from others and trapped in his own world as he is longing to be normal. Lester is not the 'man of the house' as he doesn't fit the typical stereotype of the man in a family as he takes no control of situations and is a pushover. He's self-indulgent as he only wants to focus on himself. We see Lester as pathetic because, he mentions that his 'highlight of the day' is masturbating in the shower. Straight after that scene, we see this rose being cut off, this might represent how Lester is 'cut' off from others as he's lonely most of the time. The Paradise Papers story coverage 1. Write up a description of the main differences between the two front pages from The Guardian and The Daily Mail, looking at both conventions and how the stories have been presented to the reader. On Monday 6th November, the main headlines covered leaked documents revealing the financial details of the super rich. It outlined how many were allowed to keep money outside of the UK in order to avoid paying tax. The Daily Mail uses the verb 'dragged' in the main headline to convey the message 2. Write a paragraph outlining why you think The Guardian created a series of news articles looking at the same issue and how that may reflect the newspapers poitical ideology and news values. 3.
